This week we are studying the fall of Communism, specifically in Eastern Europe. This includes studying everything from the space race to Ronald Reagan to the history of the Berlin Wall. I was able to snag these books before the libraries closed a couple of weeks ago.
The Wall: Growing up Behind the Iron Curtain, by Peter Sís
Who Was Ronald Reagan?, by Joyce Milton, illustrated by Elizabeth Wolf
Hidden Figures: The True Story of Four Black Women and the Space Race, by Margot Lee Shetterly, illustrated by Laura Freeman
Red Kite, Blue Kite, by Ji-li Jiang, illustrated by Greg Ruth
Reaching for the Moon, by Buzz Aldrin, illustrated by Wendell Minor
Arcady's Goal, by Eugene Yelchin
I'd love to know what books you would add to our list!
